TavernSprite

TavernSprite is an AI expression-pack generator: upload a single character image and it produces 28 expressions in a unified style with transparent backgrounds, correct naming, and a ZIP export. A free trial allowance is offered.

The problem it solves: SillyTavern’s Character Expressions extension can automatically switch sprites based on AI emotion, but you need 28 consistently styled images first. Creating those by hand takes hours of Photoshop or frustrating trial-and-error with generic AI generators.

The process: upload one base image (anime or cartoon style works best) and TavernSprite’s specialized model generates all 28 expressions while preserving the character’s identity, art style, and proportions. The output ZIP is already named to SillyTavern’s conventions — just unzip into your character folder.

Beyond SillyTavern: the same expression sets work for VTuber overlays, visual novel development, and character reference sheets. Paid plans also unlock custom expression slots beyond the default 28.

Setup tip: the folder name in SillyTavern/public/characters/ must match your character’s name exactly, including capitalization and spaces. This is the most common reason expressions don’t appear.
